In December 2013, HP released the LaserJet Pro M201 series. The M201 laser printers are based on a 26ppm, 600 x 600dpi
(1,200dpi with Fast Res) Canon engine. The CE283X is rated for 2,200 pages.
The printer itself has a very small footprint. It’s a nice small ofce/home machine. The memory is xed and not expandable at
128MB and 256MB for the MFP machines. The recommended monthly volume is from 250 to 2,000 pages/month. The printer,
when new, comes with a starter cartridge that is rated for 1,500 pages at ve percent coverage.
So far there are six printers based on this engine: the Pro M201n, M201dw, M202n, M202dw, MFP M225dn, and the MFP
M225dw. Cartridge troubleshooting will be covered at the end of this article.
