Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the bottom cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 21).
5. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 21).
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 27).
7. Remove the WLAN module (see Battery on page 27).
When replacing the system board, be sure to remove the heat sink (see Heat sink on page 38) from
the defective system board and install it on the replacement system board.
Remove the system board:
1. Release the two ZIF connectors (1) to which the USB port board cables are connected, and then disconnect
the USB port board cables from the system board.
2. Disconnect the display webcam/microphone cable (2) from the system board.
