If necessary, install the shipping screw. For more information, see "Securing an expansion board for
shipping (on page 55)."
7. Close the expansion slot retainer.
8. Connect any required internal or external cables to the expansion board.
9. Install the access panel (on page 27).
10. Slide the server back into the rack.
11. Power up the server (on page 25).
12. Resume normal server operations.
Securing an expansion board for shipping
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server
unless all expansion slots have either an expansion slot cover or an expansion board
installed.
1. Power down the server (on page 25).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 25).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 26).
4. Remove the shipping screw.
