Wireless antennas (select models only)
The antennas send and receive signals from one or more wireless devices. These antennas are not
visible from the outside of the computer.
Component Description
(1) WWAN antenna (1)* Sends and receives wireless signals to communicate with
wireless wide area networks (WWANs).
(2) WLAN antennas (2)* Send and receive wireless signals to communicate with wireless
local area networks (WLANs).
(3) External WWAN antenna button** Press to open the external WWAN antenna.
(4) External WWAN antenna** Sends and receives wireless signals to communicate with
WWANs.
*The antennas are not visible from the outside of the computer. For optimal transmission, keep the areas immediately
around the antennas free from obstructions.
**Before connecting to a WWAN, press the WWAN antenna button to open the external WWAN antenna to a vertical
position. The external WWAN antenna allows you to connect to a WWAN, and then to the Internet, using the integrated HP
Mobile Broadband Module and service from a supported mobile network operator. Do not close the external WWAN antenna
if you are connected to a WWAN.
