Productivity tools provide convenient access to printer information, settings, and support, and
include the following:
• HP Toolbox
• HP Embedded Web Server
• HP Instant Support Professional Edition
HP Toolbox
HP Toolbox is an application that you can use to check printer status, configure settings, set up
automatic alerts, and view self-help information, troubleshooting tips, and online documentation.
The toolbox supports both direct and network connections.
Note You do not have to have Internet access to open and use HP Toolbox. However, if you
click a link in the Other Links area, you must have Internet access to go to the site that is
associated with the link. For more information, see “Other links” on page 26.
HP Toolbox requirements
HP Toolbox is supported for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP® and is available when you
perform a complete software installation from the printer software CD (installing the printer via the
Windows Printer Wizard will install the driver only). To use HP Toolbox, you must have one of the
following browsers:
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
• Netscape Navigator 6.2 or later
• Opera Software ASA Opera 7 or later
All pages can be printed from the browser.
