HP Embedded Web Server
When the printer is directly connected to a computer, use the HP Toolbox to remotely manage the
printer.
When the printer is connected to the network, the HP Embedded Web Server is automatically
available and may be accessed from any supported browser—you do not need to install any
printer software to access the HP Embedded Web Server. The HP Embedded Web Server allows
you to view printer and network status and to manage printing functions from your computer
instead of using the printer control panel. To use the HP Embedded Web Server, you must have
either Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or later or Netscape Navigator 4 or later.
Note The HP Embedded Web Server works when the printer is connected to an IP-based
network. The Embedded Web Server does not support IPX-based or AppleTalk printer
connections. You cannot view the HP Embedded Web Server pages from outside a
firewall.
You do not have to have Internet access to open and use the HP Embedded Web Server.
However, if you click a link in the Other Links area, you must have Internet access in order
to go to the site associated with the link.
