Documentation tab
The Documentation tab contains links to these information sources:
Print: How Do I? View the How Do I? help for print problems.
Network: How Do I? View the How Do I? help for network problems.
Other: How Do I? View the How Do I? help for other device problems.
User Guide Contains information about printer usage, warranty, specifications, and support. The user guide
is available in both HTML and PDF formats.
Readme Contains important information about the printer that is not available in the user guide.
Device Settings window
When you click Device Settings, a new window opens with Settings and Networking tabs.
Settings tab
The Settings tab has links to several pages where you can view and change the printer’s
configuration.
Note Software settings can override settings that are made in HP Toolbox.
Paper Handling View and change the settings for the printer’s trays.
Printing View and change the I/O timeout setting.
Print Quality View and change the print quality settings.
Print Density View and change print density settings.
Paper Types View and change paper types.
Print Modes View and change the print modes for various paper types.
System Setup View and change system information.
Service Gain access to various procedures required to service the printer.
Networking tab
The network administrator can use the Networking tab to control the network-related settings for the
printer when it is connected to an IP-based network. This button will not appear if the printer is
directly connected to a computer, or if the printer is connected to a network through anything other
than the built-in network port.
Other links
This section contains links that connect you to the Internet. You must have Internet access in order to
use any of these links. If you use a dial-up connection and did not connect when you first opened
HP Toolbox, you must connect before you can visit these Web sites. Connecting might require that
you close the toolbox and reopen it.
HP Instant Support Connects you to the HP Web site to help you find solutions. This service analyzes your printer
error log and configuration information to provide personalized diagnostic and support
information. For more information, see page 30.
Product Registration Connects to the HP product registration Web site.
Order supplies Order supplies at the HP Web site.
Product support Connects to the support site for the HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer, where you can search for
help with a specific problem.
