Performance
Save time with fast printing, copying, faxing, and digital sending
Product performance is more than a measure of pages per minute. Rather, product performance is
the speed at which a product can turn electronic files into printed pages. In addition to engine
speed, several factors affect the time it takes to print a job, including the use of specialty paper,
computer download time, and device processing time. The time it takes for your computer to
download a job to the MFP, and for the MFP to process the job, depends on the following
variables:
• The MFP’s I/O configuration (network or parallel speed)
• The speed of your computer
• The amount of device memory installed
• The network operating system and configuration
• The throughput speed of the network print server
• Printer personality or language (such as PCL or PostScript®)
A better performing product leads to higher productivity in your workplace. You spend less time
waiting, output appears faster, and network traffic is minimized.
Increase office efficiency
With a 533 MHz processor, 256 MB standard RAM (expandable to 512 MB), and a powerful
HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet embedded print server, the product is designed to process jobs quickly for
increased uptime. To heighten performance, the MFP features Memory Enhancement technology
(MEt), which automatically compresses data, virtually doubling the MFP memory and allowing more
complex printing with available memory.
Depend on office efficiency with the MFP. Print and copy high-quality FastRes 1200 documents at
up to 45 ppm for typical letter documents (43 ppm A4). The product includes HP PCL 6 for
optimum performance, HP PCL 5e for backward compatibility, and HP postscript level 3 emulation
for PostScript print jobs. Automatic language switching ensures that the appropriate printer
language is used for each print job.
To optimize performance, the HP LaserJet 4345mfp series features Instant-on Technology, which
virtually eliminates warm-up time and delivers a first page out print speed of less than 10 seconds
for typical letter and A4 documents. The predictive ready-to-print algorithm processes jobs in
parallel with printing and improves the first page out print speed over time. Because there is no
warm-up time, the MFP consumes less energy and realizes less wear on the engine.
