6. Remove the heat sink (2).
NOTE: Due to the adhesive quality of the thermal material located between the heat sink and
system board components, it may be necessary to move the heat sink from side to side to detach
the assembly.
NOTE: The thermal material must be thoroughly cleaned from the surfaces of the heat sink (1),
(2), and (3), and the system board components (4), (5), and (6) each time the heat sink is removed.
Thermal material must be installed on all surfaces before the heat sink is reinstalled. Thermal
material is included with all heat sink and system board spare part kits.
Reverse this procedure to install the fan/heat sink assembly and heat sink.
