Fingerprint reader board assembly 651913-001
Before removing the Fingerprint reader board assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet,
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see

5. Remove the following components:
a. Hard drive (see

b. Optical drive (see

c.

d. Modem module (see
Modem module on page 72)
e.
Fan (see

f. Heat sink (see

i. System board (see
System board on page 96)
Remove the Fingerprint reader board assembly:
1. Position the top cover upside-down, with the front toward you.
2.
Remove the single Phillips PM2.5×3.0 screw (1) that secures the assembly to the top cover.
3.
Slide the bracket (2) to remove the clips in top cover and lift off unit.
