6.
Remove the PCI riser board assembly ("PCI riser board assembly" on page 42).
7. If the existing cache module is connected to a capacitor pack, observe the FBWC module LEDs (on
page 76):
o If the amber LED is flashing, data is trapped in the cache. Restore system power, and restart this
procedure from step 1.
o If the amber LED is not illuminated, remove the controller from the server, and then continue with
the next step.
8. Open the ejector latches on each side of the cache module connector. Normally, the cache module
is ejected from the cache module connector. If the module is not ejected automatically, remove the
cache module.
9. If the cache module is connected to a capacitor pack, disconnect the capacitor pack cable from the
connector on the top of the cache module.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to the cache module during installation, be sure the cache
module is fully inserted before pressing down.
