IMPORTANT: If upgrading processor speed, update the system ROM before installing the
processor.
To install a processor:
1. Power down the server (on page 6).
2. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 6).
3. Remove the heatsink fan and the heatsink. For more information, see the server installation sheet.
CAUTION: Failure to completely open the processor locking lever prevents the processor from
seating during installation, leading to hardware damage.
4. Open the processor locking lever.
5. Install the processor.
6. Close the processor locking lever.
