Physical confi guration
All models of the ML350 G5 come with six SATA hard disk drives (HDDs) and are configured for
hardware RAID 5 using the HP Smart Array E200i drive controllers. The HDDs are hot-pluggable and
hot-swappable, meaning the drives can be removed and installed with the power on, and the controller
determines whether a rebuild of the drive is ne cessary.
The logical drives reside on all six physical disks as shown in Figure 6.TheDON’TERASEvolume
contains an image that is deployed onto the OS partition during system installation.
