3. Tap a clock style you want to use.
4. Tap Settings options, and do the following:
§ Select Motion launch to show Smart display when you lift up the phone while the
screen is off.
§ Select Always on if you want Smart display to be shown when the screen is off.
To use lesser battery power, set the schedule when to show Smart display.
§ You can turn off Smart display by tapping its On/Off switch.
§ When you're traveling, Smart display can show your current location and home time zones if
travel mode is enabled. For details, see Travel mode on page 187.
Screen rotate mode
Choose how the screen orientation is adjusted when you rotate your phone.
1. From the Home screen, swipe up and then tap Settings
Display & gestures.
2. Tap Advanced Screen rotate mode.
3. Choose one of these options:
Option Description
Smart rotate Keep your phone in its current screen orientation without rotating even
when you turn the phone sideways or upright. For details, see Edge Sense
holding gesture on page 45.
Auto rotate Rotate the screen automatically when you turn your phone sideways or
upright.
Portrait mode Always keep the screen in portrait orientation.
You can also quickly switch between the screen rotate modes from the Quick Settings panel.
