Set up your phone to synchronise Outlook email with the
computer
If you have installed the synchronisation software on your PC and created a
partnership with your phone, then your phone is ready to send and receive Outlook
email. If you have not yet installed the synchronisation software or created a
partnership, follow the procedures in Chapter 3.
Tip To set up your company email account so that you can access Outlook email
messages wirelessly, you must set up your phone to synchronise via an over-the-
air connection with your company’s Exchange Server. For more information about
synchronising with your company email server, see Chapter 7.
Set up your phone for Orange Mail
The Orange Mail service allows you to receive your emails automatically, without
having to “dial-in” to retrieve them. This is often referred to as “Push” Email. Once
set-up, your HTC S740 will emit a discreet alert when any new emails have been
sent to you. To activate this service, please follow the following instructions:
1. Click Start > Internet Explorer > Favourites > More Favourites.
2. On the Favourites list, click Orange Mail.
3. Read through the explanation of the Orange Mail service provided by Orange
– navigate through the pages and click I Accept to buy the service.
4. You will receive an SMS. In the SMS, click the link to download your email
application.
5. After downloading the application, click the icon representing your ISP (e.g.
Google, Yahoo)
6. Login to your email account, with your normal username and password.
