Setting a Group Scan List
Add groups to listen to by setting a group scan list and enabling the group scan function. The
EP820 scans all the groups in the scan list and listens to the group with the highest priority.
NOTE
In the case when the group has been established:
l If the priority of the group that an EP820 is in is higher than that of any group in the scan list, the
EP820 cannot listen to any group in the scan list.
l If the priority of a group in the scan list is higher than that of the group that an EP820 is in, the
EP820 listens to the group in the scan list. The EP820 can listen to the group that it previously joined
only after the group in the scan list is terminated.
Set a group scan list as follows:
1. On the home screen of the EP820, tap to enter Group management.
2. (Optional) Tap Enable group scan. The group scan is enable by default, so the option is
Disable group scan. And after disable it, the option will be Enable group scan.
3. Tap Edit scan list.
– Tap Scanning status to select to enable or disable the group scan.
– Select the group which is you want to scan.
Joining a Group
Before making a group call, join a group using either of the following methods:
1. On the home screen of the EP820, tap
to enter Group management.
2. Tap the group you need to join.
Making a Group Call
l Hold down the PTT call button to initiate a group call when your EP820 is in standby
state. Upon initiating a group call, you own the floor by default as the call initiator.
Release the PTT call button to release the floor.
l When your EP820 is listening to a group call, hold down the PTT call button to request
the floor:
– If no one is speaking in the group, you can speak after the floor is granted. Release
the PTT call button to release the floor.
– If some one is speaking in the group, your request will be rejected if your priority is
lower than the speaker, or else you can speak after the floor is granted. Release the
PTT call button to release the floor.
NOTICE
DO NOT press the PTT Call button continuously, or you will fail to initiate a group call. The
time interval of continuously pressing the PTT call button must be more than 1 second.
