6. Connecting Your Customer’s Computer to the CPE
Once you have activated the service, you are only obligated to establish a connection to the Internet on your
own computer and demonstrate connectivity to your customer.
Connecting your customer's computer to the IDU and confirming Internet access are optional activities. They
do promote goodwill but if your customer has a complex network or very old equipment, you may not be able
to realize a positive outcome.
If you choose to connect your customer’s computer:
1. Ensure that your customer's computer is configured for DHCP operation. refer to the DHCP topic in the
WiMAX Customer Premise Equipment Installation course or guide.
2. When you have configured the computer for DHCP, plug the supplied Ethernet cable into your customer's
computer and the IDU.
3. At the computer, open a web browser.
4. In the browser address bar, enter the URL of the WMI.
The WMI login window opens.
5. Enter the WMI Username and Password.
(Login as a guest.)
6. Click OK.
The System Status window opens.
