Selecting the fan's location is essential for safe, reliable operation, maximum efficiency, and energy savings.
Locate and cut a 4-inch diameter hole in the drywall for the mounting bracket and outlet box.
Install a 2x4 support brace between joists if no ceiling joist is directly above the hole.
Install an approved UL octagonal outlet box to the joist or support brace using wood screws.
Ensure power is off, secure the supply line to the outlet box, and check wiring compliance.
