Why my Husqvarna 365 SPECIAL Chainsaw engine does not start?
    • C
      Cory MckayJul 29, 2025
Several issues can prevent your Husqvarna Chainsaw engine from starting. It could be due to blocked starter pawls (adjust or replace them), incorrect fuel type (drain the tank and refill with the correct fuel), chain oil in the fuel tank (contact your dealer if you've tried starting it; otherwise, drain the tank), a dirty or wet spark plug (ensure it's dry and clean), an incorrect electrode gap (clean the spark plug and ensure the gap and plug type are correct), a loose spark plug (tighten it), or a flooded engine from repeated starts with full choke (remove and clean the spark plug, lay the chainsaw on its side with the spark plug hole facing away, pull the starter rope 6-8 times, then reassemble the spark plug and try starting).

If your Husqvarna Chainsaw starts and then stops, it could be due to several reasons. The fuel type might be incorrect, in which case you should drain the tank and fill it with the correct fuel. Alternatively, the air filter could be clogged (clean or replace it), or the fuel filter might be clogged (replace the fuel filter). If the idle speed is not correct, you should speak to your servicing dealer.
