Do you have a question about the Husqvarna 525 LX and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Husqvarna 525LX is a two-stroke engine grass trimmer designed for both grass clearing and trimming. It is a powerful and potentially dangerous tool if not used carefully and correctly, emphasizing the importance of reading and understanding the operator's manual before use.

Function Description:

The 525LX is equipped with a trimmer head to cut grass. It is intended for clearing and trimming grass, and not for other tasks such as grass trimming and grass clearing, which implies a distinction in application that the user must understand. The product's design includes a spring-loaded start/stop switch, which allows it to be started with low speed and force on the starter handle. The throttle trigger lockout prevents accidental operation of the throttle control. The product also features a vibration damping system to reduce vibrations during operation. The airflow from the rotating trimmer cord can be used to sweep cut grass from an area.

Usage Features:

  • Fuel: Requires a gasoline/oil mixture of at least 90 octane (RON) and two-stroke oil. Husqvarna two-stroke oil (mixture 1:50 or 2%) is recommended. Low-emission (alkylate) gasoline is also recommended for better performance and reduced dangerous exhaust fumes. Ethanol blended fuel (E10 max 10%) can be used, but higher blends may cause lean running conditions.
  • Starting: The product is started by pushing the air purge bulb to fill it with fuel, moving the choke control to the choke position, and then pulling the starter rope.
  • Operation: When trimming grass, the trimmer head should be held immediately above the ground at an angle, without pushing the trimmer line into the grass. For sweeping grass, the trimmer head and cord should be held parallel to and above the ground with full throttle.
  • Safety: The product is equipped with various safety features, including a throttle trigger lockout, a stop switch, and a cutting attachment guard. Users are advised to maintain a minimum distance of 15 meters from people and animals during operation. Only flexible cutting wire should be used; metal cutting elements are prohibited.

Maintenance Features:

  • Daily Maintenance:
    • Check throttle trigger lock and throttle function.
    • Check stop switch function.
    • Ensure cutting attachment does not rotate at idle speed.
    • Clean air filter (replace if necessary).
    • Examine cutting attachment guard for damages/cracks.
    • Examine trimmer head for damages/cracks.
    • Check tightness of screws and nuts.
    • Examine engine, fuel tank, and fuel lines for leaks.
  • Weekly Maintenance:
    • Clean cooling system.
    • Examine starter and starter rope for damages.
    • Examine vibration damping elements for damages/cracks.
    • Clean outside of spark plug, check electrode gap, and adjust/replace spark plug.
    • Clean outside of carburettor and surrounding space.
    • Check bevel gear lubricant level (fill with special grease if necessary).
    • Clean or replace spark arrestor mesh on the muffler (for mufflers without catalytic converter).
  • Monthly Maintenance:
    • Check fuel filter for contamination and fuel hose for cracks/defects (replace if necessary).
    • Check all cables and connections.
    • Check clutch, clutch springs, and clutch drum for wear (replace if necessary by authorized service workshop).
    • Replace spark plug.
