10.0 Service and maintenance
Inspection of the hydronic heat pump is to be performed annually by a qualified service technician.
Caution
The owner is responsible for general care of the hydronic heat pump. Improper
maintenance may result in a hazardous condition.
10.1 Maintenance checklist for homeowner
Maintenance Required Frequency Check
Inspect system for unusual noises. Call your local heating contractor for
service if needed.
As needed
Keep combustible materials and flammable liquids and vapors away from
the hydronic heat pump.
As needed
Inspection of the unit is to be performed annually by a qualified service
technician.
Annually
Keep outdoor unit grill free of paper, leaves, grass trimmings etc. As needed

Caution
Label all wires prior to disconnection when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause
improper and dangerous operation.
Maintenance Required Check
Check calibration of thermometers and pressure gauges
Clean heat exchangers
Clean water-side strainers
Exercise all manual bypass and isolation valves
Check expansion tank charge
Obtain water sample
Evaluate water quality
Check glycol concentration and acidity
Check / tighten electrical connections
Test operation of all safety controls and devices
