3. When you are done making changes,
do
one
of
the following:
• To save your changes, press FIO.
• To return to the Change Adapter Configuration screen,
without saving your changes, press Esc.
To verify that the adapter is functioning correctly, run the offline test
using the instructions in "Running the Diagnostic Tests" on page 15.

Viewing the Adapter Configuration
To view the configuration settings that your adapter is using, select the
View Adapter Configuration option from the 5250 Adapter
Configuration Menu. This option displays:
• Which adapter is specified in the configuration
• The configuration settings for the adapter
If
there is a problem with your configuration, an error message
appears.
To return
to
the 5250 Adapter Configuration Menu, press Esc.

Automatically Reconfiguring the Adapter
The Automatic Configuration option verifies that the adapter is
installed and then selects an available memory range that the adapter
can use. The Automatic Configuration option does not select an
interrupt level.
Before you can use the automatic configuration option, the emulation
adapter must be installed. Do not use the automatic configuration
option when emulation software is running.
Note:
If
the system locks up during automatic configuration,
change the I/O port and memory settings using the directions in
"Changing Individual Configuration Settings" on page 36.
