v No: Exchange the first power supply in order left installed in step 3b (See page 161).
This ends the procedure.
6. Perform the following:
a. Power off the frame or system that you are working on. Frames with an FC 5078 or FC 0578
attached - trace and remove the lower frame power supply ac jumper cables at the AC
input/battery charger, or at the AC modules.
b. Remove one of the air moving devices (AMDs) from the system that was not previously removed
during this procedure. Disregard an AMD SRC if it occurs during this step.
c. Power on the frame or system that you are working on. Frames with an FC 5078 or FC 0578
attached- reconnect the lower frame power supply ac jumper cables at the AC input/battery
charger, or at the AC modules.
Does
a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: The AMD that you removed in this step is the failing item.
This ends the procedure.
7. Have you removed all of the AMDs one at a time?
v Yes: Install all of the AMDs and continue with the next step.
v No: Perform the following:
a. Power off the frame or system that you are working on. (Frames with an FC 5078 or FC 0578
attached - trace and remove the lower frame power supply ac jumper cables at the AC
input/battery charger, or at the AC modules.
b. Install the AMD that was removed in step 6 (See page 162) in the original location.
c. Repeat step 6 (See page 162).
8. Perform the following:
a. Remove the power cable from one of the lower DASD backplanes that was not previously
removed.
b. Power on the frame or system that you are working on. Frames with an FC 5078 or FC 0578
attached - reconnect the lower frame power supply ac jumper cables at the AC input/battery
charger, or at the AC modules.
Does a power reference code occur?
v Yes: Continue with the next step.
v No: Replace the DASD backplane that the power cable was removed from in this step. See
symbolic FRU “DEVBPLN” on page 325.
This ends the procedure.
9. Is a second lower DASD backplane installed?
v Yes: Repeat step 8 (See page 162).
v No: Replace the following one at a time:
a. DASD backplane upper (CCIN 283C or 28CB), see symbolic FRU “DEVBPLN” on page 325.
b. System unit backplane, see symbolic FRU “SYSBKPL” on page 464.
c. I/O tower, see symbolic FRU “TWRCARD” on page 470.
This ends the procedure.
10.
Perform the following:
a. Power off the frame or system that you are working on. Frames with an FC 5078 or FC 0578
attached - trace and remove the lower frame power supply ac jumper cables at the AC
input/battery charger, or at the ac modules.
b. Reinstall all of the cards that you removed in step 2 (See page 160).
c. Reconnect the ac power cable to the unit that you are working on.
