Why won't the capacitor banks switch in on my Icar MICROmatic?
    • K
      kenglishAug 4, 2025
If the Icar Portable Generator's controller doesn't switch in the capacitor banks, ensure the current transformer is correctly positioned upstream of all loads and power factor correction. Also, verify that the current transformer is enabled on phase L1 (R) and that the controller is not set to manual mode. If the amperage of the current transformer is lower than the sensitivity threshold, increase the load current or use a current transformer with an adequate primary ratio.

Why does my Icar MICROmatic Portable Generator controller show an unreal power factor?
    • R
      Rebecca CastroAug 10, 2025
If your Icar Portable Generator controller displays an unreal power factor, the current transformer may be enabled on the incorrect phase. Ensure it is positioned on phase L1 (R) as referred to in our cabinet. If the issue persists, the current transformer itself may be faulty and require replacement with a suitable one.

What to do if my Icar MICROmatic switches in all capacitor banks but the power factor doesn't increase?
    • W

If the Icar Portable Generator controller switches in all the capacitor banks without increasing the power factor on the display, it might be due to the current transformer being installed at an incorrect point. Ensure it's positioned upstream of all the loads and power factor correction system. Also, check that the current transformer is enabled on phase L1 (R) as referred to in our cabinet.

How to fix an Icar MICROmatic Portable Generator controller that won't switch on?
    • R
      Robert RiveraAug 21, 2025
If the Icar Portable Generator controller fails to switch on, first ensure the disconnect switch is turned on. If it still doesn't power up, check for blown control circuit fuses and replace them after identifying the cause. Also, verify that the quick connect terminal boards inside the unit are correctly engaged. If these steps don't resolve the issue, check the controller's power supplies; if they are regular, replace the controller with one of the original type.

What to do if Icar Portable Generator controller switches capacitor banks in and out without balance?
    • R
      Reginald RogersAug 27, 2025
If the Icar Portable Generator controller switches the capacitor banks in and out continually without finding a balance, it is likely due to a faulty setting of the controller parameters. Check the current parameters and set them correctly.
