This document is a user manual for the ICECO VL75/90 ProD portable refrigerator/freezer.
Function Description
The ICECO VL75/90 ProD is a portable refrigerator/freezer designed for cooling and freezing items. It features a dual-zone design, allowing for independent temperature control of the left and right compartments. The device can be powered by both AC (110V) and DC (12V/24V) sources, making it suitable for use in vehicles and at home. It includes a USB connector for charging other devices when powered by DC. The refrigerator is engineered for heat and water resistance, capable of operating in ambient temperatures up to 55°C (131°F) and under light rain conditions.
Important Technical Specifications
The manual provides electrical power consumption details for various ICECO models in max/fast cooling mode:
- VL75 ProD: 57W
- VL90 ProD: 61W
(Note: This data is for laboratory testing and actual power may vary based on conditions.)
The device incorporates a triple battery protection system to prevent over-discharge and battery depletion. This system has three settings (LOW, MED, HIGH) with different cut-out and cut-in voltages for both 12V and 24V systems:
- 12V System:
- LOW: Cut-out 9.6V, Cut-in 10.9V
- MED: Cut-out 10.1V, Cut-in 11.4V
- HIGH: Cut-out 11.1V, Cut-in 12.4V
- 24V System:
- LOW: Cut-out 21.3V, Cut-in 22.7V
- MED: Cut-out 22.3V, Cut-in 23.7V
- HIGH: Cut-out 24.3V, Cut-in 25.7V
The power line is protected by a 15A fuse located within the refrigerator.
Usage Features
The ICECO VL75/90 ProD offers several user-friendly features:
- Lid Opening: The lid can be opened from either the right or left side by gripping the latch and lifting. The latches can also be pushed inwards on both sides to fully disassemble the lid.
- Dual Zone Operation: The refrigerator has two independent cooling zones (left and right) with separate temperature controls (buttons D, E, F, G).
- Temperature Setting: Users can set the desired temperature for each zone. The current interior temperature is displayed as a solid, non-flashing number, while the set temperature flashes during adjustment.
- Compressor Speed (Eco/Max Mode): The compressor can operate in either ECO (energy-saving) or MAX (fast cooling) mode, selectable via Button C.
- Celsius/Fahrenheit Toggle: The temperature display can be switched between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) by pressing and holding Button C and Button D for 3 seconds.
- Single Zone Mode: Individual zones can be turned on or off by pressing and holding the respective UP and DOWN temperature buttons (F and G for the left zone, E and D for the right zone).
- Battery Protection Settings: The low battery protection level (LOW, MED, HIGH) can be adjusted using Button A to prevent the vehicle battery from draining excessively.
- USB Connector: The device includes a USB connector for charging external devices, which is active only when the fridge is charging via the DC power cord.
- Power Input: It comes with both a 110V AC wall outlet cable and a 12/24V DC cigarette lighter plug cable, allowing for versatile power options.
Maintenance Features
Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of the ICECO VL75/90 ProD:
- Cleaning:
- Always unplug the fridge before cleaning.
- Clean the interior and exterior with warm water mixed with a gentle non-abrasive detergent.
- Use a soft sponge or micro fiber cloth.
- To reduce odors, leave the lids open when not in use.
- For persistent odors, clean thoroughly or use baking soda in a bowl to absorb odors.
- DO NOT:
- Use pointed objects to scrape or defrost ice.
- Use abrasive detergents.
- Use heavy-duty sponges (due to scratching).
- Clean with running water or a pressure washer.
- Clean without power input covers secured.
- General Safety and Placement:
- Do not use in uncovered outdoor areas exposed to the environment.
- Avoid placing near direct heat sources (cooker, radiator, direct sunlight).
- Do not place unsealed ice or liquids inside.
- Do not place hot products or hot food that might knock against other items when the appliance is in motion.
- Ensure the lid is always latched securely.
- The power cable should only be replaced by a qualified technician or an assistant authorized by the manufacturer.
- Disconnect the power cable from the plug before any maintenance operations.
- Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction (3 inches recommended).
- Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process unless recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments unless recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not store explosive substances (e.g., aerosol cans with flammable propellant).
- Be aware of the risk of fire and electrical shock.
- Do not let hot items come into contact with the plastic parts.
- Do not put flammable products or items that are wet with flammable products in or near the appliance.
- Do not touch the compressor or condenser as they are hot.
- Ensure the supply cord is not trapped, caught, or damaged when positioning the appliance.
- Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
- Post-Delivery Handling: If the refrigerator is delivered upside down, leave it upright for 24 hours to allow compressor lubricant to resettle before powering it on to prevent operational abnormalities. Contact customer service immediately if there are visible oil or fluid leaks.
