© Memory name function
Each memory can be programmed with an alphanumeric
name such as a repeater name, club name, etc.
* This function can be selected for each memory channel in-
dependently.
* This function is not available when the number of memory
channels is expanded to 80.
@Push [MR] to select memory
mode.
@Select a memory channel for
name indication.
@ Push [FUNC] + [©MeN].
*The default name for a memory is
“CH" followed by the channel number,
e.g. the default name indication for
memory channel 01 is “CHO1.”
Y NOTE: While using the monitor function, the display
Y shows the frequency even when memory name indication
Z is selected.
‘» Push [MR] to select memory mode.
‘» Rotate [DIAL] (or use the keypad) to select a memory
channel.
@ Push [FUNC] + [©MeN] for 1 sec.

* The character (or cursor) at the far left
begins to flash.
@ Rotate [DIAL] to select the desired
character; or push [A] to move to
the next position.
* Push [V] to move to the previous po-
sition.
@ Repeat step © until the desired
memory name is input.
*Up to 6 characters can be pro-
grammed into a memory name, :

memory name writing mode.

to
9,
A
to
Z
(capitals
only),
(space,
(,
),
+,—,
=,
*,/,
A,
p,
and
>.
NOTE: The programmed memory name is cleared when
overwriting a memory channel.
WS
