250 HOURS MAINTENANCE AND CHECKS
First perform previous service hour items
ENGINE OIL AND FILTER
Change the Oil and Filter

* Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not
allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
* DO NOT overfill the crankcase to avoid engine damaged.
Engine damage can result.
* NEVER operate the engine when oil level is above MAX or
MIN marks.
1. Stop the engine.
2. Remove the crankcase oil drain plug ®. Allow the oil to drain into a
container. Install the crankcase drain plug ®.
NOTE: Always dispose of used oil and filters as established by local
regulations.
3. Open the engine cover on the rear of machine.
4. Remove the used filter © by the filter wrench.
Use a filter wrench with the type shown at right.
Clean the filter housing base.
5. Apply a light coat of engine oil to the gasket of the new filter.
6 . Install the new filter by hand. When the seal contacts the base,
tighten the filter 3/4 turn more by filter wrench. Do not overtighten.
7. Remove the oil fill plug ®. Fill the crankcase with oil. Refer to
"Recommended lubricant table." Clean and install the oil fill plug ®.
8 . Before starting the engine, make sure the oil level is between the
two notches on oil level gauge ©.
9. Start and run the engine at low idle for two minutes. Inspect for oil
leaks. Stop the engine.
10. Wait 10 minutes to allow the oil to drain back into to the crankcase.
Check the oil level Maintain the oil level to the FULL mark on
dipstick.
11. Close and latch the engine hood.
