FILLING THE SALT RESERVOIR
The use of salt prevents the formation of LIMESCALE on the dishes and on
the machine’s functional components.
It is mandatory that THE SALT RESERVOIR NEVER BE EMPTY.
It is important to set the water hardness.
The salt reservoir is located in the lower part of the dishwasher
(see PRODUCT DESCRIPTION) and must be lled when the SALT REFILL
indicator light in the control panel is lit.
1. Remove the lower rack and unscrew the reservoir cap
(anticlockwise).
2. Only the rst time you do this: ll the salt reservoir
with water.
3. Position the funnel (see gure) and ll the salt reservo-
ir right up to its edge (approximately 1 kg); it is not
unusual for a little water to leak out.
4. Remove the funnel and wipe any salt residue away from the opening.
Make sure the cap is screwed on tightly, so that no detergent can get into
the container during the wash program (this could damage the water so-
ftener beyond repair).
Whenever you need to add salt, it is mandatory to complete the
procedure before the beginning of the washing cycle to avoid corrosion.
FILLING THE RINSE AID DISPENSER
Rinse aid makes dish DRYING easier. The rinse
aid dispenser A should be lled when the
RINSE AID REFILL indicator light in the
control panel is lit.
NEVER pour the rinse aid directly into the
appliance tub.
FILLING THE DETERGENT DISPENSER
To open the detergent dispenser use the opening device C. Introduce the
detergent into the dry dispenser D only. Place the amount of detergent for
pre-washing directly inside the tub.
The detergent dispenser automatically opens up at the right time
according to the program.
If all-in-one detergents are used, we recommend using the TABLET button,
because it adjusts the program so that the best washing and drying results
are always achieved.
Usage of detergent not designed for dishwashers may cause malfunc-
tion or damage to the appliance.
WATER SOFTENING SYSTEM
Water softener automatically reduces water hardness, consequently
pre-
venting scale buildup on heater, contributing also to better cleaning
eciency.
This system regenerates itself with salt, therefore it is required to rell
salt container when empty.
Frequency of regeneration depends on water hardness level setting - regen-
eration takes place once per 6 Eco cycles with water hardness level set to 3.
Regeneration process starts in nal rinse and nishes in drying phase, be-
fore cycle ends.
Single regeneration consumes: ~3.5L of water;
Takes up to 5 additional minutes for the cycle;
Consumes below 0.005kWh of energy.

Overview

This document provides a comprehensive guide for the Indesit dishwasher, covering its functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Control Panel and First Time Use

The control panel features an On-Off/Reset button with an indicator light, a program selection button, and indicator lights for salt refill, rinse aid refill, program number, delay time, and tablet (Tab) usage. A display shows relevant information, while a delay button and START/Pause button (with indicator light/Tablet (Tab) function) allow for program control. The Push&GO button offers quick access to a specific program.

Before first use, it is crucial to fill the salt reservoir. Salt prevents limescale formation on dishes and internal components. The salt refill indicator light signals when the reservoir needs refilling. To do this, remove the lower rack, unscrew the cap, and for the first time, fill the reservoir with water before adding approximately 1 kg of dishwasher salt using a funnel. Ensure the cap is screwed on tightly to prevent detergent from entering. Refilling salt should always be done before starting a wash cycle to avoid corrosion.

The rinse aid dispenser, indicated by the rinse aid refill light, should also be filled. Rinse aid facilitates drying. Never pour rinse aid directly into the appliance tub.

Detergent Dispenser

To fill the detergent dispenser, use the opening device to access the dry dispenser. Detergent for pre-washing can be placed directly inside the tub. The dispenser opens automatically during the program. For all-in-one detergents, the TABLET button should be used to optimize washing and drying results. Using detergents not designed for dishwashers can cause damage.

Water Softening System

The dishwasher includes an automatic water softening system that reduces water hardness, preventing scale buildup and improving cleaning efficiency. This system regenerates itself using salt, so the salt container must be refilled when empty. Regeneration frequency depends on the water hardness level setting, occurring once per 6 Eco cycles with hardness level 3. Each regeneration consumes approximately 3.5 liters of water, adds up to 5 minutes to the cycle, and uses less than 0.005 kWh of energy.

Programs Table

The dishwasher offers a variety of programs tailored for different needs:

  • ECO 50°: This is the most efficient program for normally soiled tableware in terms of combined energy and water consumption, complying with EU Ecodesign legislation. Duration: 3:35, Water consumption: 9.5 liters, Energy consumption: 0.95 kWh.
  • Intensive 65°: Recommended for heavily soiled crockery, especially pans and saucepans (not for delicate items). Duration: 2:40, Water consumption: 18.0 liters, Energy consumption: 1.60 kWh.
  • Mixed 55°: For normally soiled dishes with dried food residues. Duration: 2:15, Water consumption: 16.0 liters, Energy consumption: 1.40 kWh.
  • Fast&Clean 28′ 50°: For half loads of lightly soiled dishes with no dried food residues. This program does not include a drying phase. Duration: 0:28, Water consumption: 9.0 liters, Energy consumption: 0.50 kWh.
  • Night 50°: Suitable for night-time operation, offering optimal cleaning and drying with low noise emission. Duration: 3:35, Water consumption: 16.6 liters, Energy consumption: 1.30 kWh.
  • Extra Hygiene 65°: For normally or heavily soiled crockery, with an additional antibacterial wash. Can also be used for dishwasher maintenance. Duration: 2:00, Water consumption: 12.0 liters, Energy consumption: 1.50 kWh.
  • Prewash: To refresh crockery planned for later washing. No detergent should be used. Duration: 0:12, Water consumption: 4.7 liters, Energy consumption: 0.01 kWh.
  • Self Clean 65°: For dishwasher maintenance, to be performed only when empty, using specific dishwasher maintenance detergents. Duration: 0:50, Water consumption: 10.0 liters, Energy consumption: 0.80 kWh.
  • Push&GO 50°: An everyday wash and dry cycle for excellent cleaning performance in a short time without pre-treating dishes. Duration: 1:30, Water consumption: 11.5 liters, Energy consumption: 1.30 kWh.

All programs, except Fast&Clean 28', include a drying phase. Available options are indicated for each program. Values for programs other than Eco are indicative and may vary based on factors like water temperature/pressure, room temperature, detergent amount, load type/quantity, load balancing, selected options, and sensor calibration. Sensor calibration can increase program duration by up to 20 minutes.

Options and Functions

Options can be selected directly via their corresponding buttons. If an option is incompatible with the selected program, its LED will flash rapidly 3 times, a beep will sound, and the option will not be enabled.

  • DELAY: Allows delaying the program start by 1 to 12 hours. This function cannot be set once a wash cycle has started.
  • TABLET (Tab): Should be off if powder or liquid detergent is used.
  • PUSH&GO: Provides direct access to the Push&GO program, a wash and dry cycle for great cleaning performance in a short time without needing to choose a specific program.

Loading the Racks

The dishwasher has a capacity of 14 standard place-settings.

  • Upper Rack: Designed for delicate and light dishes like glasses, cups, saucers, and low salad bowls. It includes foldable flaps with adjustable positions.
  • Lower Rack: Suitable for pots, lids, plates, salad bowls, and cutlery. Large plates and lids should be placed at the sides to avoid interference with the spray arm.
  • Cutlery Basket: Equipped with top grilles for improved cutlery arrangement. It should be positioned only at the front of the lower rack. Knives and other sharp utensils must be placed in the cutlery basket with points facing downwards or horizontally in the tip-up compartments on the upper rack.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Filter Assembly: The filter assembly should be cleaned regularly. Remove foreign objects like broken glass, porcelain, bones, or fruit seeds carefully. Never remove the wash-cycle pump protection (black detail).
  • Spray Arms: The upper spray arm can be removed by turning the plastic locking ring clockwise. The lower spray arm can be removed by pulling it upwards.

Troubleshooting

If the dishwasher is not working properly, check the following common issues:

  • Dishwasher does not fill water (Display shows H, 6, and On/Off LED blinking rapidly):
    • No water in the supply or tap is closed: Ensure water supply is on.
    • Inlet hose is bent: Straighten the inlet hose (see INSTALLATION), reprogram, and reboot.
    • Sieve in the water inlet hose is clogged: Clean it, then turn off/on the dishwasher and restart.
  • Dishwasher finishes cycle prematurely (Display shows 15 and On/Off LED blinking rapidly):
    • Drain hose positioned too low or siphoning into home sewage system: Check drain hose height (see INSTALLATION), install an air admittance valve if necessary.
    • Air in water supply: Check water supply for leaks or other issues.
