WARNING Read all the safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, re and/or serious
injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
1 . General Power Tool Safety Warnings – Work area Safety
1.a Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
1.b Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
1.c Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause
you to lose control.
2 . General Power Tool Safety Warnings – Electrical safety
2.a Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
2.b Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
2.c Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
2.d Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power
tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
2.e Use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the
risk of electric shock.
2.f If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3 . General Power Tool Safety Warnings – Personal safety
3.a Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power
tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
3.b Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
3.c Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to
power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energising power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents.
3.d Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key
left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
3.e Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
of the power tool in unexpected situations.
3.f Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
3.g If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards .
4 . General Power Tool Safety Warnings-Power tool use and care
4.a Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct
power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
4.b Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
4.c Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool
before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
4.d Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
4.e Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have
the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
4.f Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
4.g Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the
power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous
situation.
5 . General Power Tool Safety Warnings-Service
5.a Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical
replacement parts.
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, because the belt may contact its own
cord, Cutting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could
give the operator an electric shock. (for 60745.2.4)

10. Always inspect and remove nails and screws before sanding.
11. Always check walls and ceilings to avoid hidden pipes and electrical cables. A metal
detector can be acquired in any DIY shop.
12. Use clamps or other devices to secure the work piece to a rm surface.
13. Use the original accessories and the tool supplied. Do not use any others.
14. Only use accessories in good condition. Do not use worn or deteriorated accessories.
15. Do not use a damaged plug or cable that has been repaired. Be aware of the
location of the cable when working.
16. Never carry or hang the tool by the cable. Do not pull on the cable to unplug it from
the mains socket. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving
parts. Damaged or tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock. Replace the
cable immediately if it is damaged.
17. Do not begin the cutting operation with the blade in contact with the work piece.
Let the device reach full speed before cutting into the work piece.
18. Make straight, thin cuts without curves and ensure the blade is not bent.
19. Unplug the tool before attaching or changing accessories.
20. Do not cause the blade to stop spinning or apply too much pressure on the blade.
Do not try to cut too deep.
21. Keep hands away from the cutting area.
22. Wear protective gloves.
23. Hold the tool on the parts expressly designed to be held. Do not touch the tool’s
metal parts when the tool is plugged in.
24. Be careful when attaching and removing accessories, even when the tool is not

is in the OFF position before connecting it to the mains, picking it up or carrying it.
Carrying the tool with your nger on the switch or plugging the tool into the mains in
the ON position can cause accidents.
28. Try to adopt a good position and keep your balance at all times. That will make it
much easier to keep control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Warning! Some dust particles created when sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other
construction-related work contain chemical substances that can cause cancer, congenital
defects and reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemical substances are:
1. Lead in lead-based paints.
2. Crystalline silica from bricks, cement and other masonry products.
3. Arsenic and chrome from chemically treated wood.
The risk of exposure varies depending on the frequency with which this kind of work is done.
To reduce your exposure to these products, make sure you do the following:
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- Work with certied safety equipment, such as dust masks specially designed to lter
microscopic particles.
Warning! Vibrations in the hand and arm may occur when working with this electric
tool. Adopt proper working practices to reduce exposure to vibrations.
