code for a CATVConverter, is not intended to be unpluggedby the user for
dexning orany otherpurpose, may excludethe referenceto unplugging the
product in the product in the cleaning descriptionotherwiserequired in

6) Attachments - Do not useattachments not recommendedbythe product
manufactureras theymaycausehazards.
7) Water and Moisture- Do not use this product near water - forexample,
near a bath tub, washbowl,kitchen sink, orlaundrytub; in a wet basement;
or near a swimmingpool; and the like.
8) Accessories - Do not place this product on an
unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket,ortable. The
product may fall,causingserious injury to achild
or adult, and serious damageto the product. Use
onlywith a cart, stand, tripod, bracket,or table
recommended by the manufacturer, or sold
with the product. Artymounting of the product
should follow the manufacturer'sinstructions,
and should use a mounting accessory
recommendedby the manufacturer.
9) A product and cart combination should be
moved with care. Quick stop, excessive force, and
unevensurfacesmaycausethe product and cartcombination to overturn.
10) Ventilation - Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for
vendhtion and to ensurereliableoperationof the product and to protect it
from overheating,and these openingsmust not be blocked or covered. The
openingsshouldneverbe blockedbyplacing the product on a bed, sofa, rug,
or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in
installationsuch as a bookcaseor rackunlessproperventilationisprovided or
the manufacturer'sinstructionshave beenadhered to.
11) PowerSources- Thisproduct should be operatedonlyfrom the type of
powersource indicated on the marking label.If you are not sure of the type
of power supply to your home, consult your product dealeror localpower
company. For products intended to operatefrom battery power, or other
sources,referto theoperatinginstructions.
12) Grounding or Polarization - This product may be equipped with a
polarizedalternating-current line plug (aplug having one blade widerthan
the other).This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a
safetyfeature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully inro the oudet, try
reversingtheplug. If the plug shouldstill fail to fit, contactyour dectricianto
replaceyourobsoleteoudet. Do not defeatthe safetypurpose ofthe polarized
plug.
13) Power-CordProtection- Power-supplycords should be routed so that
they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or
against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles,and the pointwhere they exit from theproduct.
14) Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna or cable system is
connected to the product, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so
as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static
charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSIINFPA 70,
provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and
supporting structur__e,grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge
unit, size for grou'nding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit,
connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding
dectrode. See Figure A.

15) Lightning- For added protectionfor this product duringa lightning
storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time,
unplug it from the walloutlet and disconnectthe antenna or cable system.
This will prevent damageto the product due to lightningand power-line
surges.
16) Power Lines - An outsideantenna systemshould not be locatedin the
vicinityof overheadpower linesor other electriclight or power circuits, or
where it canfall into such powerlinesor circuits.When installingan outside
antenna system,extremecare should be taken to keep from touching such
powerlinesorcircuitsas contactwith them might be fatal.
17) Overloading- Do not overloadwall outlets,extension cords, or integral
conveniencereceptaclesasthis can resultin ariskof fireor electricshock.
18) Object and Liquid Entry- Never push objectsof any kind into this
product through openingsas they may touch dangerousvoltagepoints or
shott-out parts that could resultin a fireor electric shock. Never spill liquid
ofany kind on theproduct.
19) Servicing- Do not attempt to servicethis product yourselfas openingor
removingcoversmay exposeyou to dangerousvoltageorotherhazards.Refer
allservicingto qualifiedservicepersonnel.
20) DamageRequiringService- Unplug this product from the walloudet
and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following
conditions:
a) When the power-supplycord or plugis damaged.
b) If liquidhasbeenspilled,orobjectshavefalleninto the product.
€)If the product has beenexposedto rain orwater.
d) If the product does not operatednormally by following the opdrating
instructions. Adjust only those controls that arecovered by the operating
instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damageand will often require extensivework by a qualified technician to
restorethe product to its normaloperation.

22) Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this
product, ask the servicetechnician to perform safetychecksto determinethat
the product is in properoperatingcondition.
23) Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The product should be mounted to a wall
orceiling onlyas recommendedby the manufacturer.
24) Heat - The product should be situated awayfrom heat sourcessuch as
radiators, heat registers,stoves,or otherproducts (induding amplifiers)that
produceheat.
