How to troubleshoot Ingersoll-Rand Winches that will not operate?
- MMichelle FrankAug 12, 2025
If your Ingersoll-Rand Winch isn't operating, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure there's sufficient oil supply pressure and volume at the winch inlet, and clean the oil filter. Check that the winch isn't overloaded beyond its rated capacity. Verify that the disc brake releases by pressurizing the disc brake release port and checking for excessive leakage from the case drain port. Also, confirm that shipping plugs have been removed from valve and motor ports. The motor itself might be damaged, requiring disassembly and cleaning. Lastly, check that the system relief valves are set correctly.
