What to do if my Ingersoll-Rand RS45i Air Compressor will not start?
    • T
      Tyler RuizAug 6, 2025
If your Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor won't start, there could be several reasons. First, check that the power supply to the compressor is switched on; if it is, contact a qualified electrician. Another potential cause is controller failure, in which case you should check the supply to the controller and replace it if necessary. Finally, a starter failure could be the issue; in this case, isolate the supply, lock it off, tag it, and replace the failed component, or contact your local Ingersoll Rand representative.

Why does the pressure produced by my Ingersoll-Rand RS45i is too high?
    • J
      Joshua MillerAug 13, 2025
If the pressure produced by your Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor is too high because the speed isn't reducing as demand decreases, the controller settings may be incorrect; check and modify them. Alternatively, the pressure transducer may be faulty, incorrectly calibrated, or not receiving a pressure signal; recalibrate or replace it. A drive settings fault could also be the cause, in that case, contact your local Ingersoll Rand representative.

What to do if my Ingersoll-Rand RS45i will not meet pressure required by system?

      Annette McdanielAug 20, 2025
If your Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor isn't meeting the required system pressure, several factors could be at play. The inlet valve might not be opening fully, the separator element could be dirty or collapsed, pipes or hoses might be blocked or collapsed, or the cooler core could be blocked. Additionally, the minimum pressure check valve might not be functioning correctly, or equipment between the compressor and the customer measuring point could be causing a pressure drop or loss. In each of these cases, repair or replace the faulty component. Review system requirements.

What to do if my Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor is stopped and will not restart?
    • B
      Brandi ThompsonAug 28, 2025
If your Ingersoll-Rand Air Compressor is stopped and won't restart, it could be because the controller has tripped the compressor and hasn't been reset. See Table 4. Another possibility is that the emergency stop button has been pressed and not released; in this case, identify the reason why, repair the fault, disengage the button, and reset the controller. Even if the emergency stop button has been pressed and released, the controller may still need to be reset after the fault is repaired.
