K3 Extended Troubleshooting Guide
IF THE REMOTE DOES NOT LIGHT UP OR BED WORKS INTERMITTENTLY:
A) Change the batteries to 3 AAA lithium batteries of any brand.
Make sure the batteries are facing the correct directions.
Make sure the terminals of both batteries are in contact with the metal on
either side of the battery compartment.
Make sure you are not using rechargeable batteries.
IF THE REMOTE LIGHTS UP, BUT NOTHING WORKS ON THE BED:
B) Check for power to the base:
Check to see if there is a green light on the transformer, which is the black box
on the floor attached to the power cord. Our bases should be plugged into a surge
protector that is at least 600-700 joules, higher is better, and at most 400V, lower is
better.
If the green light is on, please proceed to the next step.
If the green light is not on, please do a hard reset by unplugging your base
for 30 minutes and plugging it back in to see if the light comes back on. If
the green light still does not come on, please email service@innovasleep.com,
or call 877-386-1373.
If you have a Split King base, please switch the transformers/power cords
on the two sides of your base to see if the green light comes back on. If
the light is still not on, please do a hard reset following the steps above.
C) Sync Instructions:
1) Find the black LINK button on the control box (see Figure 1) located under
the bed about halfway between the head and the foot.
2) Press and hold the black LINK button for 4-5 seconds until the LINK
LED light starts blinking.
3) While the light is blinking, press and hold the HEAD UP (top right corner) and
FOOT UP (top left corner) buttons on the remote until the remote lights start
blinking (see Figure 4).
4) At this point, the remote should be paired with the control box. To test, press
the HEAD UP, FOOT UP, and FLAT buttons individually.
***If the sync did not work, try it again - you may not have pressed and held the
buttons on the remote control quickly enough to sync it to the base.***
***If the remote blinks for a long time when you press and hold the HEAD UP and
FOOT UP buttons, this means that the sync was not successful, and the remote's
emission frequency needs to be changed. On the back of the remote within the
battery compartment, there are 6 DIP switches above the 3 batteries. Change those

Overview

This document provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for the K3 Extended Adjustable Bed Base, focusing on issues related to remote control functionality and bed operation. It also includes information for King-sized bases and emergency lowering procedures.

Function Description:

The K3 Extended Adjustable Bed Base is designed to provide adjustable comfort for users, allowing them to raise or lower the head and foot sections of the bed. It operates wirelessly via a remote control, which communicates with a control box located under the bed. The system relies on a transformer for power, which should ideally be plugged into a surge protector. For King-sized beds, the base may consist of two separate Twin XL bases that can be controlled individually or simultaneously with a sync cord.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Remote Control Batteries: Requires 3 AAA lithium batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended.
  • Power Supply: The base is powered by a transformer, which should have a green light indicating power.
  • Surge Protector: Recommended to be at least 600-700 joules, and at most 400V.
  • Control Box: Features a black "LINK" button and a "LINK LED" light for syncing. Also includes an "Emergency Lowering" button (red button).
  • Remote Control (OKIN Wireless Remote #PB670): Features "Head Up/Down," "Foot Up/Down," "Zero Gravity," "Flat," and "Lounger" buttons. The remote has DIP switches within the battery compartment for changing emission frequency, particularly useful for King bases.
  • Sync Cord: Used for King bases to allow one remote to control both Twin XL bases simultaneously. Connects to "SYNCHRO CNTL" ports on the control boxes.
  • Emergency Power: In case of a power outage, the transformer has a battery backup feature that uses two 9-volt alkaline batteries to return the base to a flat position. These batteries are not for normal operation.

Usage Features:

  • Adjustable Positions: Users can adjust the head and foot sections of the bed using the dedicated "Head Up/Down" and "Foot Up/Down" buttons on the remote.
  • Pre-programmed Positions: The remote includes "Zero Gravity" for optimum comfort and relaxation, and "Lounger" for leg-down positions.
  • Flat Position: A "Flat" button allows the bed to return to a flat position quickly.
  • Remote Syncing: The remote control needs to be synced with the control box under the bed. This involves pressing and holding the "LINK" button on the control box until its LED blinks, then simultaneously pressing and holding the "HEAD UP" and "FOOT UP" buttons on the remote until the remote lights start blinking.
  • King Base Control: For King-sized beds composed of two Twin XL bases, each base has its own control box and must be synced with a different remote (each with a different DIP-switch setting). To control both bases with a single remote, a sync cord is required to connect the two control boxes.
  • Emergency Lowering: In situations where the bed is stuck in an upright position, users can press the red "Emergency Lowering" button on the control box. During a power outage, installing two 9-volt alkaline batteries into the transformer's battery backup and using the reset button on the control box will return the base to a flat position.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: If the remote does not light up or the bed works intermittently, the first step is to change the remote batteries to 3 AAA lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity and contact with terminals.
  • Power Check: Regularly check for a green light on the transformer to ensure the base is receiving power.
  • Hard Reset: If the green light on the transformer is not on, or if syncing issues persist, a hard reset can be performed by unplugging the base for 30 minutes and then plugging it back in.
  • DIP Switch Adjustment: If the remote blinks for a long time during syncing, indicating unsuccessful pairing, the remote's emission frequency may need to be changed. This is done by adjusting the 6 DIP switches located within the battery compartment on the back of the remote.
  • Troubleshooting Support: For persistent issues, users are encouraged to email service@innovasleep.com or call 877-386-1373, specifying which troubleshooting step did not resolve the problem.
