The Insignia 3.1 Cu. Ft. Retro Compact Refrigerator is a compact refrigeration appliance designed for household and similar applications. Usage Features:
- Installation:
- The refrigerator should be placed on a strong, level floor, allowing 5 inches (12.7 cm) of space between the back and sides for proper air ventilation.
- It should be located away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- The appliance is not designed for recessed installation or outdoor use.
- Handle Installation: The handle kit is included and must be pushed horizontally onto the base until it clicks into place. The handles are not removable after installation.
- Electrical Connection: Requires a standard 115V ~ 60 Hz AC electrical outlet with a three-prong ground. A 15-20 amp fused, grounded electrical supply is necessary. Extension cords are not recommended.
- Leveling: The refrigerator must be level for correct function. Leveling feet (front) can be adjusted by turning them counter-clockwise to raise or clockwise to lower.
- Setting the Thermostat:
- The thermostat dial controls the temperature. Settings range from 1 (less cool) to 7 (cooler).

Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the case periodically with a mild detergent and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid using gasoline, benzine, thinner, or abrasive cleaners.
- Cleaning the Interior:
- Unplug the refrigerator and remove all food.
- Wash the inside with a damp warm cloth soaked in a solution of one quart of lukewarm water to two tablespoons of baking soda solution.
- Keep the door gasket (seal) clean for efficient operation.
