Turn your tablet on or off
Turn on your tablet
l Press and hold the button. Your tablet turns on.
Note
If you don't touch your tablet for a period of time (depending on the screen timeout setting), it may sleep with the
screen off. Press briefly to wake it up.
Turn off your tablet
There are a few ways to turn off your tablet. You can:
l Press and hold the button for three seconds, and then swipe down.
l
If in tablet mode, tap (power), and then tap Shut down.
l
If in desktop mode, tap (Start menu), Power, and then tap Shut
down.
Use Cortana
Cortana is your tablet's personal assistant. Use it for voice commands, voice
search, finding files on your tablet, and more.
Set up Cortana
To set up Cortana for the first time:
l Open the search bar, tap (Cortana), and then follow the on-screen
instructions.
