Follow the instructions in the wizard to create the recovery drive.

When finished, keep your flash drive or micro SD card in a safe place.
Anyone who has it can access your account.
Using a password recovery drive

Connect your password recovery drive (a flash drive or SDcard).
2 From the log in screen, tap Reset password.
Note
The "Reset password"option appears after entering your password incorrectly.

Follow the instructions in the wizard to reset your password.
4 Tap Finish.
Reset your tablet to factory defaults
l If you cannot recover with the Microsoft account password or if you do not
have a password recovery drive, reset your tablet. See Reset from startup
(on page23) for more information.
