Usage Features
The Instant Vortex Slim Air Fryer features a user-friendly control panel with dedicated buttons for Smart Programs (Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, Reheat), Temperature, Time, Cancel, and Start. It also includes a Control Dial for adjusting settings and a display for showing cooking progress and messages.
Initial Setup:
- Unpacking: Remove the air fryer and all packaging materials, including accessories, from the box. Do not remove safety warning stickers or the rating label.
- Cleaning Before Use: Wipe the interior with a damp cloth and dry. Wash accessories (cooking tray, air frying basket) with hot water and dish soap, then rinse and dry.
- Placement: Place the air fryer on a stable, level, non-combustible surface, away from heat sources, ensuring at least 5 inches (13 cm) of space around all sides for adequate airflow. Do not place it on top of another appliance.
- Test Run: Before first use, perform a test run:
- Plug in the air fryer.
- Insert the cooking basket without food.
- Select the Air Fry program, set temperature to 400°F / 205°C, and time to 18 minutes.
- When "Add Food" displays, remove and reinsert the basket (no food needed).
- When "Turn Food" displays, wait 10 seconds for the program to resume.
- Allow the unit to cool after the program ends.
Control Panel Features:
- Sound On/Off: Press and hold Temp and Time buttons for 5+ seconds until "S Off" or "S On" displays. Audible safety alerts (beeps) cannot be turned off.
- Temperature Unit Selection: Press and hold the Temp button for 5+ seconds until "°F" or "°C" displays to choose between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
- Save Custom Settings: Select a Smart Program, adjust Time or Temp using the Control Dial, then press Start to save. These settings will be used for future uses of that program. Adjustments made during cooking are not saved.
- Reset Smart Programs:
- Individual: With the display showing "OFF", press and hold a Smart Program button until "Ready" displays.
- All: With the display showing "OFF", press and hold the Control Dial for over 3 seconds to restore factory settings.
- Cancel Active Program: Press "Cancel" at any time. The fan may continue running to cool the unit.
Cooking Process:
- Prep Food: Cut, chop, season, marinate, or batter ingredients as per your recipe.
- Insert Basket: Place the air frying basket (with the cooking tray inside) into the cooker.
- Select Program: Press the desired Smart Program button (e.g., Air Fry).
- Adjust Settings: Use Temp/Time buttons and the Control Dial to set temperature and cooking time.
- Start Cooking: Press Start. The display will show "Preheating".
- Add Food: When "Add Food" displays, remove the basket, carefully add food, and reinsert the basket. The countdown timer will begin.
- Turn Food: When "Turn Food" displays, remove the basket, turn/flip/rotate food, and reinsert the basket. If not removed, cooking continues after 10 seconds.
- Finish: When the program completes, the appliance beeps and displays "End". A "Food-Ready" beep will sound 1 minute later and every minute for 10 minutes if the basket is not opened.
General Use Cautions:
- Do not touch hot surfaces or accessories during/immediately after cooking. Use oven mitts.
- Place hot accessories on a heat-resistant surface.
- Do not cover the air frying basket or appliance with foil.
- Do not move the appliance while in use.
- Do not overfill the air fryer.
- Do not pour oil directly into the cooking container; spray food lightly if needed.
- Use caution with non-metal/glass cooking containers.
- If black smoke emits, press Cancel, unplug, wait for smoking to stop, cool, then clean thoroughly.
- Use extreme caution when moving the appliance with hot oils/liquids or disposing of hot grease.
- Do not deep fry.
- Do not use ceramic-coated or stoneware pots for air frying.
- Ensure at least 5 inches (13 cm) of space around the air fryer for air circulation.
- Do not operate near combustible materials.
- Do not cover air vents during operation.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning:
- Always unplug the unit and allow all parts to cool to room temperature before cleaning.
- Ensure all surfaces are dry before use or storage.
- Cooking Tray: Dishwasher safe. Has a non-stick coating; avoid metal utensils and harsh cleaners.
- Removable Air Fryer Basket: Dishwasher safe. Has a non-stick coating; avoid metal utensils and harsh cleaners.
- Cooking Chamber: Clean with a damp cloth and mild dish soap. Regularly check heating coil and walls for oil spatter and food debris, and clean as needed. Ensure the heating coil is dry before turning on the air fryer. For baked-on grease/residue, spray with a baking soda and vinegar mixture, wipe with a damp cloth, and for stubborn stains, let the mixture sit for several minutes before scrubbing.
- Power Cord: Clean with a soft, damp cloth or sponge and wipe dry.
- Note: Some discoloration may occur after machine washing, but this does not affect safety or performance.
Care and Storage:
- Let the appliance cool to room temperature before cleaning or storage.
- Do not store any materials in the appliance when not in use.
- Do not place combustible materials (paper, cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam, wood) in the appliance.
- Do not clean with metal scouring pads or steel wool.
Troubleshooting:

- Air fryer not turning on: Check power cord, outlet, and ensure the air frying basket is fully inserted.
- Black smoke: Cancel program, unplug, cool, clean thoroughly. Use neutral oil with a high smoke point.
- White smoke: Avoid high-fat foods, check for excess oil/fat, pat dry moist food, do not add water/liquid to the chamber, and be mindful of seasoning blowing into the element.
- Error Codes (E1, E2): These indicate an open circuit or temperature sensor short circuit. Contact Consumer Care for assistance.

The Instant Vortex Slim Air Fryer comes with a One (1) Year Limited Warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship for purchases made from authorized retailers. The warranty requires proof of purchase and applies if the appliance was used according to instructions.
