Why does my Intellihot i250X have ignition failure?
    • K
      Kenneth HudsonAug 15, 2025
If your Intellihot Water Heater fails to ignite, it could be due to several reasons. A possible cause is a tripped water over-heat switch, so check the pump and cross over solenoid. Another potential cause is low gas pressure, in which case you should adjust the gas pressure at the regulator, check or upsize the gas line, and check for any gas line blockages. It could also be a faulty DSI, igniter wire, ignition connection, PCB, or a bad igniter, requiring you to replace the part. If the problem persists, turn the control panel OFF, shut the gas valve, unplug the unit, and contact an authorized service technician.

How to fix a blower speed fault on Intellihot i250X Water Heater?
    • W
      William StevensAug 18, 2025
If your Intellihot Water Heater is showing a blower speed fault, it could be due to several reasons. The blower might be noisy or the impeller jammed, requiring you to inspect and clean the blower and impeller, removing any obstructions. Another cause could be a disconnected or faulty signal wire or wiring, so check the PWN signal and look for loose wires or pins, and repair them. If the problem persists, turn the control panel OFF, shut the gas valve, unplug the unit, and contact an authorized service technician.

What to do if my Intellihot i250X Water Heater shows a blocked flue fault?
    • L
      Laura SimmonsAug 22, 2025
If your Intellihot Water Heater is showing a blocked flue fault, it could be due to a blocked exhaust caused by obstructions like birds. Check the exhaust termination and connection at the water heater, and consider installing screens. Another possible cause is backed-up condensate, so check the slope of the drain and look for double loops, air locks, or debris in the loop. Also, check the wiring in case of loose connections.

    Nicholas OrtizAug 25, 2025
Why is the flue temperature exceeding the set limit on my Intellihot i250X Water Heater?
    • J
      Joann FosterAug 26, 2025
If the flue temperature on your Intellihot Water Heater is exceeding the set limit, it could be due to an incorrect vent setup. If the vent pipe material is CPVC or Polypropylene, ensure that CPVC is selected in the FP (Flue Pipe) mode. High inlet temperature could also be the cause. Ensure the inlet temperature is lower than 150°F if the vent pipe material is PVC or lower than 190°F if the vent pipe material is CPVC or Polypropylene. Check for nicked or broken sensor wiring and connectors. Also check for corroded or wet connectors. You can measure the resistance of the sensor at the connector (18 Kohm at 50°F, 10 Kohm at 77°F, 3 Kohm at 140°F). Alternatively, the controller may need to be replaced.

What causes the heat exchanger outlet temperature to exceed the set limit in Intellihot i250X?
    • A
      Anna SmithAug 28, 2025
If the heat exchanger outlet temperature on your Intellihot Water Heater is exceeding the set limit, it could be due to excessive flow rate changes. Ensure the water flow rate does not change faster than 2 GPM every 5 seconds. Also, check for nicked or broken sensor wiring or connectors, and inspect for corroded or wet connectors. You can measure the resistance of the sensor at the connector (18 Kohm at 50°F, 10 Kohm at 77°F, 3 Kohm at 140°F). The controller may also need replacement.

How to troubleshoot a shorted temperature sensor on an Intellihot i250X Water Heater?
    • J
      James PooleSep 1, 2025
If your Intellihot Water Heater indicates a temperature sensor is shorted, it may be due to faulty sensor wiring. Check for nicked or broken sensor wiring or connectors, and also inspect for corroded or wet connectors. Another cause could be a faulty sensor, so measure the resistance of the sensor at the connector (18 Kohm at 50°F, 10 Kohm at 77°F, 3 Kohm at 140°F). Alternatively, the controller itself might be faulty and require replacement.

    Tanner MelendezSep 3, 2025
What to do if Intellihot Water Heater displays a temperature sensor open circuit error?
    • W
      williamwaltersSep 4, 2025
If your Intellihot Water Heater shows a temperature sensor open circuit, first check the connectors to ensure they are securely connected. Also, check for nicked or broken sensor wiring or connectors, and inspect for corroded or wet connectors. If the wiring is intact, measure the resistance of the sensor at the connector (18 Kohm at 50°F, 10 Kohm at 77°F, 3 Kohm at 140°F). If the issue persists, the controller may need to be replaced.

    Colleen BrownSep 7, 2025
Why is the recirculation icon flashing on my Intellihot i250X Water Heater?
    • B
      Brenda HoltSep 7, 2025
If the recirculation icon is flashing on your Intellihot Water Heater, it could indicate several issues: * The pump may be inoperable, so check the pump wiring harness for loose connectors. * The pump might be faulty and excessively hot, requiring replacement. * The controller could be faulty and need replacement. * For P models, the solenoid valve may be plugged up, requiring cleaning of the lines and replacement of the solenoid. * The solenoid valve itself might be faulty and need replacement. * A jammed check valve could also be the cause; remove the check valve access and ensure the gate is free to move.

What does a flashing icon mean on my Intellihot Water Heater?
    • F
      fwhiteSep 12, 2025
If you see a flashing icon on your Intellihot Water Heater, it indicates an error code and the unit is locked out. Refer to the indicated error code (E1, E2, etc.) for resolution.
