IS-2260 / IS-2260T Passive Infrared Motion Sensor
Mounting Guidelines
Select a mounting location in which
the likely direction of intruder motion
is across the coverage pattern rather
then towards or away from the sensor.
Do not install where the sensor is
exposed to direct sunlight, or is close
to strong sources of heat.
Make sure there are no obstructions
that can block the pattern of coverage.
Do not install in an area where rapid
temperature changes from central
heating, radiators, ducts, air conditioning,
open flames, etc. are likely.
Avoid running sensor cables close
to other cables especially for extended
distances or where the other cables
radiate excessive electromagnetic
interference.
Open the unit.
Select wire and wall mount knockouts
to be used and carefully break them
out.
Pull wire out of the
wall and remove 3
(8 cm) of cable
jacket. Insert wires
into back housing
and attach with
wire tie. Cut excess
wire tie.
Push out on the latch on the right side of
the housing and gently pull up on the PCB
to remove.
Do not use for wires.
Mount the sensor in the desired location.
Set alignment post according to mounting
height and lens used.
Connect the wires to terminal as shown
using 18-22 AWG (0.3-1.0 mm
2
) wire.
Observe the proper polarity.

Set Pulse Processing Option
Intermediate Pluse Processing (INT): This is the recommended setting for any location
where an intruder is expected to cross only a small portion of the coverage area. It
tolerates normal environments.
Note: NOT recommended for pet immune applications.
Note: Recommended if using the optional curtain lens.
Standard Pulse Processing (STD): This is the recommended setting for most applica-
tions. It tolerates environmental extremes.
Note: This is the recommended setting for pet immune applications.
Harsh Pulse Processing (HARSH): This is the recommended setting for the severest of
environments and should only be used in locations where an intruder is expected to
cross moderate to large portions of the coverage area.
* Curtain lens and 10 wide angle lens are not
intended for use in pet applications.
