The Intense Tracer T275 Carbon and Tracer 275 are high-performance mountain bikes designed for trail and enduro riding. These bikes are built to offer a thrilling riding experience, featuring a 27.5-inch wheel size and modern trail geometry. The Tracer family has a rich history, with development starting in 2012, aiming for a perfect balance of beauty and aggressive performance.
Function Description
The Tracer T275 Carbon and Tracer 275 are full-suspension mountain bikes engineered for aggressive trail and enduro riding. They are designed to handle demanding terrain, offering a blend of stability, agility, and efficient power transfer. The bikes utilize a patented VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) suspension system, which is known for its ability to provide excellent small-bump compliance, efficient pedaling, and predictable big-hit performance. The adjustable travel feature allows riders to switch between 160mm and 145mm of rear travel, adapting the bike to different riding styles and trail conditions.

Usage Features
Assembly:
The assembly process requires specific tools and knowledge. It is recommended to have an authorized Intense dealer perform service and maintenance. Key steps include:
- Connecting Top Link to Front Triangle: Involves holding the top link and shock mount, inserting the upper pivot axle, and tightening bolts to 20 Nm / 175 in-lbs.
- Connecting Box Link to Front Triangle: Involves holding the bearing cap and matching the front triangle pivot point, then inserting the main pivot expander bolt and tightening to 7 Nm / 60 in-lbs.
- Connecting Rear Triangle to Box Link: Follows previous steps to connect the rear triangle to the box link.
- Connecting Rear Triangle to Top Link: Involves inserting shoulder bolts through seat stay bearings, applying Loctite #243 to top link threads, and tightening shoulder bolts to 20 Nm / 175 in-lbs.
- Installing Rear Shock: Involves matching the forward end of the shock to the forward shock mount, installing M6x40mm bolts, and tightening both shock bolts incrementally to 7 Nm / 60 in-lbs.
- Installing Adjuster Cones: Involves greasing and inserting cone adjusters into the head of the main pivot expander bolt, then tightening M6x22mm bolts to 14 Nm / 125 in-lbs.
- Installing Derailleur Hanger: Involves greasing the outer edges of the derailleur hanger, adding Loctite #243 to threads of the hanger bolt, and tightening to 11 Nm / 100 in-lbs.
Setup and Tuning:
- Seatpost: Ensure the seatpost is inserted at least 4 inches into the main frame to prevent damage or failure.
- Adjustable Travel: The upper linkage offers dual mounting positions for 160mm (upper mount) and 145mm (lower mount) rear travel.
- Shock Setup (Cane Creek DB Air, Rock Shox Monarch Plus RC3, Fox Shox Evolution Float CTD Adj): Detailed charts are provided for rider weight, spring pressure (PSI), and rebound clicks out for both 145mm and 160mm travel settings. Riders should consult the shock manual for complete information on setup, tuning, and maintenance.
- Cane Creek DB Air: Base tune recommendation includes 16mm SAG, specific settings for HSC, LSC, HSR, and LSR.
- Rock Shox Monarch Plus RC3: Provides spring PSI and rebound clicks out for rider weights from 100 lbs (45 kgs) to 300 lbs (136.08 kgs).
- Fox Shox Evolution, Float CTD Adj: Provides spring PSI and rebound clicks out for rider weights from 100 lbs (45 kgs) to 300 lbs (136.08 kgs).
- All shock setups recommend 20% SAG when sitting on the bike and 25-30% fork SAG when sitting on the bike.
Maintenance Features
General Service and Care:
- Regular maintenance is crucial for safe performance and longevity.
- It is recommended to have an authorized Intense dealer perform service.
- Always wear eye protection and use proper tools, Loctite, grease, and torque specs during assembly.
T275C Carbon Care (Specific for Carbon Frames):
- Cleaning: Use a soft cloth with warm soapy water; avoid abrasive cloths or cleaners.
- Cable Routing: Ensure all frame surfaces in contact with cables are protected; cable housing rubbing on carbon can wear over time.
- Brake Levers, Handlebar Ends, Fork Crown: Ensure these components do not contact the frame at full rotation.
- Storage: Never clamp any part of a carbon frame in a bike stand or car rack.
- Inspection: Always inspect your frame for any chain suck damage. Intense frames come equipped with steel chain suck plates, but damage can still occur.
- Post-Crash Inspection: Always inspect your frame in full after a crash for cracks, dents, or loose fibers. A qualified Intense Cycles dealer should inspect any damage.
- Grease: Use high-grade waterproof grease on seat post, BB, and head set bearing contact areas with the carbon.
- Cleaning: Never ream or face a carbon frame.
- Torque: Be sure to follow all recommended torque settings.
