ATS1170 One Door RAS Programming Guide 7
Program users to a valid door group for door number/RAS number
See Advisor Master Manager Guide, user menu 20.
Beeping code overview
• 1 long + 2 short = Card programmed
• 1 long = Card removed
• 2 short = Card read OK
• 3 long = Database is full
• 7 short = Error/not in database
When the ATS1170 is online, cards can only be entered into ATS1170 onboard
database by programming via menu 10–Learn Mode. Also, when the ATS1170 is
online, the onboard database is not used for access control. Granting access is
controlled by the control panel user database. The onboard database only comes
into use for access control when ATS1170 loses communication with the control
panel, or when in permanent offline mode.
DIP switch A on ATS1170 will have no effect in the online mode, however leave it
in the Off position.
This switch is only ever used in the offline mode to program cards. See “Basic
setup and programming for offline access control” on page 8 for offline mode
card programming.
Normal door operations will be performed when in the programming mode. When
programming cards in online mode, normal door access control functions apply.
So if a user is valid, the access granted will be given even though you are
programming the card into the onboard database.
One short beep is sounded by a Wiegand card reader each time a card is
badged, in addition to the number of beeps listed in the programming
instructions. This is because the first beep is generated by the Wiegand card
reader indicating it has read the card.
Online programming can be exited in three ways:
• Turn it off via menu 10–Learn Mode.
• Time out — after four minutes of no use while in ATS1170 menu.
• Just logout of the ATS1170 menu.
