Programming cards
Programming cards into the ATS1170 user database in online mode
Once the card format and type has been established, a card number can be
entered into the ATS1170 database. Select menu 10–Learn Mode to enable card
programming. Turn the learn mode option on.
Once this is done there is a timeout period of four minutes if no programming is
taking place. If this happens, turn on the learn mode again.
Adding a card to the onboard user database
Badge the card four times at the card reader to program a card in to the
database.
Note: No more than a maximum of three seconds is allowed between badges or
else the badging process must start again.
On the first badge:
• If the card number is not in the control panel user database, seven beeps
(error) will sound, otherwise, two beeps (OK) will sound.
On the second and third badges, two beeps will sound.
On the fourth badge, and if the database is not full:
• The card number is entered into the ATS1170 database.
• One long beep followed by two short beeps will sound.
If the database is full:
• The card number is discarded.
• Three long beeps will sound
Removing a card from the onboard user database
To remove a card from the ATS1170’s database, the card format and type must
match the card. Ensure Learn Mode is on – see menu 10 of ATS1170.
To remove a card, badge it six times. One long beep is sounded when the card is
removed from the onboard user database. This does not affect in any way the
ATS control panel user database.
When in the online mode, ATS1170 is under control from the ATS control panel
user database. For a card to get access granted in this mode, the following three
steps must be performed.
Programming the ATS control panel to accept the card system code
See Advisor Master programming guide, installer menu 20 and installer menu 25.
Program the ATS control panel to accept the user cards/codes
See Advisor Master Manager Guide, user menu 14.
