9 TRACKING FUNCTIONS - CONFIGURATION
An optional S9 tracking system includes two (one on each side of the BAC) Summit
Safety PathnderTM Fireghter Beacons integrated into the Interspiro S9 PASS device
(See section 3.3). When the reghter’s PASS device goes into alarm, the Beacon
transmits a specic ultrasound signal. The tracking symbol is activated on the DDU.
A separate hand-held RIT Tracker is capable of detecting and following this
transmitted signal, leading the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) along the PATH to the
distressed reghter. The RIT Tracker is described in a separate operating instruction.
When the S9 SCBA cylinder valve is opened and the SCBA is charged, the S9
integrated PASS and the Beacons turn on. When the S9 PASS goes into alarm mode,
the Beacons transmit the Pathnder signal, allowing the reghter to be located
quickly. The PathnderTM Fireghter Beacon frequency is 41,67 kHz.
