Why is chlorine insufficient in my Intex QS 200?

  The chlorine level may be insufficient if the Saltwater System isn't operating long enough daily. Increase its operating time. Check the salt level with the Test Kit and adjust as needed. Chlorine can also be lost due to intense sunlight, so use a pool cover when the pool is not in use or when the unit is running. High UV level exposure can also lead to this issue, so covering the pool may help. Remove the cell for inspection and clean it if necessary. If the pool is clean, add stabilizer to the water and then test the water while the device is running. Also consider if the bather load has increased.

  White flakes in the water are usually caused by excessive calcium hardness in the pool water. To fix this, drain about 20 to 25% of the pool water and add fresh water to decrease the calcium hardness. Also, inspect the electrolytic cell for scale buildup, and clean it if necessary.

  If the Intex Cleaning Equipment shows a flashing LED panel code and an alarm, several factors could be the cause. First, make sure a filter pump with the correct flow rate is attached and working. Remove any black hat-like plugs from the pool strainer connectors and clear your filter cartridge and cell of any debris. Ensure that no air is trapped in the circulation line. Check the direction of the inlet and outlet hoses, reversing them if needed. Clean the titanium electrode and ensure the cell cord is firmly plugged into the cell housing receptacle. Reset both timers on the filter pump and saltwater system. Inspect the primary electrolytic cell and clean it if necessary. Add salt as needed.
