To center your vehicles steering wheel:
1. On level ground, drive straight forward for 30 feet.
This is easiest done by driving on a painted line,
next to a wall or next to any other straight object.
2. Stop the vehicle. Place the transmission in “P”
(Park).
3. Remove the steering wheel cap to expose the
steering wheel nut.
4. Remove nut with an impact driver or long socket
wrench.
5. With your hands or a rubber mallet, gently knock
the back of the steering wheel towards the seat
until it is removed. Do not use excessive force
or the steering wheel may become damaged or
forcefully come off. Do not turn the steering wheel
or allow the tires to turn.
6. Reinstall Steering Wheel to center position.
7. Reinstall the steering wheel nut.
8. Reinstall the steering wheel cap.
Alignment
To adjust front tire alignment:
1. Make sure the steering wheel alignment is correct.
2. Stop the vehicle on a level surface with the tires
straight forward.
3. Place the transmission in “P” (Park).
4. Measure the distance between centerline-to-centerline
forward (front) of the tires at hub height.
5. Measure the distance between centerline-to-centerline
behind (rear) the tires at hub height.
6. Front distance should be 0 inches to 0.25 inches
shorter than rear distance. If not, adjust tie rod length.
