BATTERY CHARGER TROUBLESHOOTING
30, 60 & 90% RED
LEDs BLINKING ................... OVERALL TIMER SHUTDOWN
This indication occurs if the charger has not competed the charge cycle within
the allowable factory set time period. This indicates that a possible battery
problem exists and that the charge cycle has been terminated at this point.
30 & 90% RED
LEDs BLINKING ................... INTERNAL OVERTEMP SHUTDOWN
This indication occurs if the charger circuitry has detected operating
temperatures inside the charger enclosure that are above factory specified
levels. This could indicate that a possible charger problem exists and that the
charge cycle has been terminated at this point.
30% RED & 100% GREEN
LEDs BLINKING ................... BULK STAGE SHUTDOWN
This indication occurs if the battery voltage does not rise properly during the
bulk stage. This indicates that a possible battery problem exists and that the
charge cycle has been terminated at this point. Please call technical support for
assistance.
Problem: A green LED was illuminated before disconnecting the power
from the charger, but upon reconnection, red LEDs appear and remain on.
Answer: This is the normal operating procedure for the system. It
indicates that a reanalysis of the battery status was initiated and after a
series of steps the green LED was illuminated.
Trouble Cause Countermeasure
No engine power Key switch is not in the proper position Make sure the key is in “ON” position
Low or no battery charge Charge batteries
Check error codes See the Error Code list below
Motor has overheated Allow motor time to cool
Speed sensor malfunction Check connection. Replace if needed
Solenoid malfunction Replace solenoid
Bad battery or batteries Clean battery cables and terminals
Charge the battery
Battery could have self-discharged
Poor terminal connection Clean the terminal and tighten securely
Difficult to shift Shifter out of adjustment Adjust
Shifter cable stretches
Shifter cable dirty or rusted Clean or replace cable
Vehicle range has Battery life expired Renew battery
dramatically reduced Bad battery Unhook all batteries and test them one-by-one
or loss of power Low water Maintain battery fluid level of ¼” above plates
Heavy payload Reduce payload or tow weight
Vehicle cab or front window The drag created by a front window will slightly reduce vehicles overall range.
Low tire pressure Air tires to proper pressure
Insufficient charging Allow more time for vehicle to charge
