If the Engine Coolant Temperature gage shows an overheat
condition, or you have reason to suspect the engine may be
overheating, take the following step:
l
If your air conditioner (if equipped) is on, turn it off. And
turn on the heater.
l
Don’t turn off your engine.
l
With the transmission in Neutral, increase the engine speed
to about one-half full operating speed or 1200 RPM,
maximum. Bring the idle speed back to normal after two or
three minutes.
If the engine coolant temperature does not start to drop within
a minute or two:
l
Let the engine run at normal idle speed for two or three
minutes.
If the engine coolant temperature does not start to drop, turn off
the engine and get out of the vehicle or equipment then
proceed as follows:
