The internal resistance, Ri, of the load dump test pulse generator shall be
obtained from the following relationship
R
i
=
10 × U
nom
× N
act
0.8 × I
rated
× 12000min
−1
where:
U
nom
: is the specified voltage of the alternator
I
rated
: is the specified current at an alternator speed of 6000 min–1 (as
given in ISO 8854)
N
act
: is the actual alternator speed, in reciprocal minutes
The pulse is determined by the peak voltage V
s, the internal resistance Ri, and
the pulse duration t
d; in all cases small values of Vs are correlated with small
values of R
i and td, and high values of Vs with high values of Ri and td. For the
test voltage U
A
please refer to ISO16750-1.
3.21.3 42V Road vehicles — Electrical and electronic
equipment for a supply voltage of 42 V — Electrical loads
A test wave completely conforming to International Standard ISO21848 is built
inside the device, which can be used for the test of Electrical and electronic
equipment for a supply voltage of 42V - Electrical loads. The user can directly
and quickly recall this function during test.
Note
When recall the ISO-16750-2 waveform, user need to enable the internal load function at
first. To ensure the ISO-16750-2 waveform is excellent.

test pulse
Detect the function when the DUT is under maximum dynamic
VoltageUmax, dyn, and simulate the maximum dynamic Voltage of high-energy
pulse raised from throw load in 42V electrical system, where the upper limit is
the protection voltage of throw load.
Apply 1 test pulse to the DUT, as shown below:
t: time (in ms)
U: Voltage (in V)
