2. If no serial port is found on your newer laptop, you will need an
option which allows direct download of flights to a USB Thumb
drive. This can be accomplished with a JPI Download box. This
allows the direct connection using the serial cable to a USB Thumb
Drive eliminating having to bring your laptop to the airplane.

3. Insert the small round plug into the data connector on your aircraft
instrument panel, and the other end into the computer serial port.
4. Start running the downloaded program in the PC, referring to the
instructions supplied with that program.
5. Simultaneously hold the STEP and LF buttons for five seconds. You
will see the word PROGRAM for two seconds. Tap the STEP button
until you see the question DUMP? NO.

6. Tap the LF button to select either NEW or ALL.
