Overview

This document describes the Wrist Type Blood Pressure Monitor, Model W02, a device designed for measuring systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse rate. It is intended for adult use, specifically for individuals over 12 years old who have hypertension or require blood pressure monitoring. The device can be used in both medical facilities and at home.

Function Description

The Wrist Type Blood Pressure Monitor operates by wrapping a cuff around the wrist to measure blood pressure. It utilizes an oscillometric measuring method and a resistive pressure sensor. The device is designed to detect pulse irregularities, indicated by a specific symbol on the display. If this symbol appears frequently, it is recommended to consult a doctor. The monitor automatically stores measurement results with date and time for two users, with each user having 120 memory sets. It also features an auto power-off function after 60 seconds of inactivity.

Usage Features

Before using the monitor, users should read the instruction manual carefully and keep it in a safe place. It is crucial to consult a doctor for any questions regarding blood pressure and its measurement, as only a health-care professional is qualified to interpret blood pressure measurements. The device is not suitable for neonates, infants, or pregnant patients, nor is it intended for use in emergency medical services environments. It should not be used with HF surgical equipment.

To ensure accurate measurements, users should avoid eating, smoking, and physical exertion directly before measurement. A relaxation period of about ten minutes in a quiet atmosphere is recommended. Measurements should always be taken on the same wrist, preferably the left, and at the same time of day for consistent comparison. The cuff should be applied so that the display faces the user, with a 1cm distance between the cuff and the hand. It should be secured comfortably, not too tightly. The wrist should be laid on a table with the palm upwards, supported by a cushion, ensuring the cuff rests at approximately the same height as the heart. Users should remain still and quiet for two minutes before starting a measurement.

The monitor features a talking function and supports two users (A and B). Users can select their profile using the A/B user button. System settings, including year, month, date, time, and volume, can be adjusted by pressing and holding the Setting button. The device allows for the deletion of existing user measurement data by long-pressing the memory button when checking data. However, all records cannot be deleted at once, and users are advised to keep a record of important data elsewhere. Removing the battery will not result in data loss.

To begin a measurement, press the Start/Stop button. The cuff will inflate, and the increasing pressure will be displayed. After reaching an individual pressure, the pump stops, and the pressure slowly falls. The heart symbol blinks when the pulse is detected. Once the measurement is concluded, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values, along with the pulse, will be displayed. The measurement results remain on display until the device is switched off or automatically powers off after 60 seconds. To stop inflation or measurement at any time, press the Start/Stop button; the monitor will deflate and turn off.

The monitor uses two new, long-life 1.5V AAA batteries. Batteries should be removed if the monitor will not be used for a prolonged period. Rechargeable NiMH batteries can also be used, but they must be removed and recharged externally when the battery symbol appears, and should not remain inside the instrument when discharged.

Maintenance Features

The device, including the cuff, should be cleaned weekly. The effective repetitive cleaning times are 390 during its shelf life. After each use, hands should be washed, especially if the device is used by different patients. The device should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, or direct sunlight. The cuff, containing a sensitive air-tight bubble, must be handled carefully to avoid twisting or buckling. Cleaning the device should be done with a soft, dry cloth; gas, thinners, or similar solvents should not be used. Spots on the cuff can be removed with a damp cloth and soapsuds, or 70% isopropanol. The cuff with bladder must not be washed in a dishwasher, clothes washer, or submerged in water. The tube should be handled carefully, avoiding pulling, kinking, or sharp edges. The monitor should not be dropped or treated roughly, and strong vibrations should be avoided. Opening the monitor will invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. Batteries and electronic instruments must be disposed of according to local regulations, not domestic waste.

Sensitive measuring devices require periodic accuracy checks, recommended annually by an authorized dealer or the manufacturer.
